Dealer History

Small beginnings
In 1967, Michael Smyth set up a small garage in Bolton, and at that modest pace began the story of the RRG group. With only five mechanics, Michael founded Radcliffe Road Garage. They sold fuel in that garage, and restored engines. The business blossomed, the demand for fuel was high and so was the profit. At that time, the group opened their first Toyota model store.

During this period, there was progress in mechanics and thus in the automotive industry. The RRG group rapidly expanded its sector, and revenue was invested mainly in five new representatives. Therefore, the sales grew significantly by 1990. During this period, the prestigious Salford Quays dealership was launched. It turned out to be a winning combination; the group offered quality service and delivered a large number of both new and used cars. From that point onward, the RRG group was growing continuously, so in 2000 the ownership was given to a corporation called Marubeni. In the coming period, the RRG group worked hard on increasing its offer.

Fifty years of service
Decades of continuous work on quality, service improvement and monitoring market trends have yielded excellent results. RRG Group nowadays employs over seven hundred people across Northwest and West Yorkshire. The company owns as many as 21 representative offices as well as two body shops with a vehicle fleet. They continue to work continuously to improve their services and the group intensively invests in progress.
